so I hosted for the first time. I always knew I loved cultivating beautiful experiences and good food but I never thought about actually planning and executing my vision. I really aimed for a pink themed friendsmas party with foods true to my heritage. Below are the details:
The Spread

The menu consisted of smothered chicken (not pictured), hoppin john (sauteed kale and black eyed peas), rasta pasta, sweet candied potatoes, mac and cheese. These dishes are comfort foods, and the specific way they are prepared can only be done by blessed and loving hands. Also big thanks to Sandra's Next Generation for catering most of the food and to my parents for preparing the hoppin john and sweet potatoes!
Island Decorations: Originally I had an idea to decorate my burgundy bow garland around the light fixture but opted against it,so it served as a table runner on top of pink table runner, the serving ware I sourced from Goodwill, Burlington, TJ Maxx, and Am*zon. I also had a bowl of my gift bags which contained the charceuterie board components along with Ghiradelli peppermint bark chocolate (my favorite). I decorated the island with tapered pink candles inside gold candlesticks adorned in different variations of pink and red ribbons. Finally I did a custom floral arrangement with purple/pink-ish roses, red roses, and baby pink carnations.
Cocktails

For drinks, one of the girls made a delicious cosmo (strong too) I garnished the drink with rose petals, other drink options included Poppi soda and Rosé.
Dessert

For dessert I made a sweet charceuterie board consisting of Hershey's brittle, caramel popcorn, pink heart marshmallows, and chocolate covered pretzels.
